Jeff Jay
Started circus in 1980 after leaving his scaffolding job. Was singled
out for comedy early on and went on to develop his well-known comedy
trampoline. Equally enjoys playing an array of alternative chracters
including, "Norman the Doorman" - a whacky MC - and the
not-so-friendly "Egor the 'Oribble" - the butler/janitor
of the ill-famed "Circus of Horrors".
Jeff performs solo on his Comedy Trampoline, Cloudswing and Comedy
Sketches - some of whitch may involve audience participation. He
also performs Bungess and Act Wheel of Death acts with partner Willy
Ramsay and a popular Comedy Western Cowboy show with Polly.
Jeff has worked for Robert borthers Circus, Circus variety, Fossets
Circus, The Spanish National Circus, Circus Fiesta, The Cottle Sisters
Circus, Gerry Cottle's Rock 'n' Roll Funfair/Circus, Xanadu, Zippo's
Circus, The Circus of Horrors, Cottle and Austen's Electric Circus,
Gandey's Circus (Saudi Arabia), Pete Jay's Hippodrome Circus, Cirque
Amar (France), Hammond Productions (theatre company involving theatre
shows and panto), Bourne Leisure Ltd (Butlins).
Recent TV credits
include, "Don't Try this at Home", "Ant
and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway" (twice). Jeff has performed at Glastonbury (Circus of Horrors) and at the
Fuji Rock Festival in Japan where he performed the "Wheel of
Death" with partner Willy Ramsay. He also makes regular appearances
at "Time" in Dublin.
